Tomorrow evening at 7pm see’s the internet premiere of Surrealist Studios’ new film - Ghosts of Versailles. This unique, spooky film is our shortest film to date at 1min 20secs and also one of our most experimental, yet we have tried to pack an immense amount of detail both visually and audibly.
Visit surrrealiststudios.com at 7pm on this Saturday (tommorow) at 7pm to watch the film online. The film will appear on video sharing websites including YouTube later that night.
Below is the logo for the new film.

Firstly welcome to the brand new news page! We’ve kept all the old posts in case your wondering. The old news system had a few issues with spamming. This new news system supports RSS and we’ve finally been able to bring the comment feature back.
Secondly, thanks to all of you that have watched Place & Object, our new experimental micro film collection. We’ve got plans to start production of one or maybe more films in the next few months. We’ll keep you posted.
A completely re-designed version of Surrealist Studios TV, the film player on SurrealistStudios.com has been launched today.
With a new look and a a much bigger video player, Surrealist Studios TV has much better quality than YouTube and other video sharing websites.
We’re hoping to introduce higher quality playback for any films we release in the future to adapt to the fact that peoples internet connections are getting faster.
You can visit Surrealist Studios TV at http://tv.surrealiststudios.com

Surrealist Studios is still going!
Yes, apologies for the lack of updates on Surrealist Studios.
Firstly, I find it hard to believe how far Surrealist Studios has come. The Surrealist Studios website was launched on 30th August 2004 complete with our short films ready to watch online and download. Thats over 4 years ago! To put this in perspective, YouTube was only launched in 2005 and that kickstarted the online video revolution. Now, in 2008, it is an extremely saturated market with millions of low-budget and homemade short films on thousands of websites. Of course Surrealist Studios has changed too, 5 new films and one recent complete website redesign along with on-going improvements to our online film player. Outside of our website we’ve got all our films on more than YouTube, 16 other video-sharing websites to be precise. On YouTube alone we’ve had 33,949 video views. On this website we have had 551,809 unique visitors since August 2006. That’s over half a million unique visitors in just over 2 years. So once again, thank you for all your support.
Secondly, our latest film Not Now Bernard, which we released earlier this year has performed well and we didn’t quite expect it to be so well received.
So, currently we are working on a film that we hope to shoot this December/January time. So you can expect to have the film launched on this website in Febuary. As always, we’ll try to keep you update and let you in on some more about the new film. Keep an eye on our Blog (www.blog.surrealiststudios.com) or sign-up to our newsletter at www.surrealiststudios.com/newsletter

We’re quite excited and we think you’ll like this one as it’s probably one of the best films we’ve made.
We’re not going to give anything away just yet but stay tuned as we will be releasing stills, some info and the actual title of the film on the run up to the release. All will be posted here and the main website.

Surrealist Studios is proud to announce that work has begun on our new film - The Mongtrix. This film is going to be a spoof of the Hollywood sci-fi hit - The Matrix.
This film is going to be extremely different from all our other films, it is on a much larger scale - more locations, more actors and very expensive. It is also of a completely different genre to our three other films. The film will still be produced and directed by myself (Sam Vincent) and Max.
We are not going to give anything away about the storyline yet but we can promise lots of laughs, most of The Matrix special effects and good acting.
The Mongtrix is still a short film, we haven’t gone feature length yet. We anticipate it to be under 18 minutes.
Filming starts from the beginning of August 2005 and check out our blog for information on filming locations and the dates of filming. It is going to be filmed in the City of Bath in the South West of the UK. Also additional filming locations in surrounding towns.
Eventually there will be a Behind the Scenes documentary on The Mongtrix DVD when it is released and on the website for public viewing too.
If haven’t realised we are still looking for extra’s to be part of The Mongtrix,
The cast and crew have just been confirmed. The post-production crew is, as always myself and Max.
Cast
Gabriel Sims fewer - Neo
Naomi Havergal - Trinity
Henry Heffer - Morpheus
Max Mulvany - Agent Smith
Will Heinen - Kline
Sam Douglas-Bates - Beacham
Matt Horsley - Tank
Ollie Harman - Switch
Ross Evans - SWAT trooper
Will Heinen - SWAT trooper
Jack Patterson - SWAT trooper
Greg Barber - SWAT trooper

On the other side of things, the film will still be available to view or download on our website for free, however as you may know we are launching a store where you can buy all our films. The Mongtrix will be available in the Store on DVD, VHS and Special CD-ROM.

Our latest film ‘The Visitor’ has finally been released. After just less than two months of filming and one month of editing The Visitor has been completed. We haven’t had a film for a while, Woodlands was released half a year ago in September. Here is a description of The Visitor.
Living alone in her ancient house, the old woman leaves no window without shutters or curtains. It has been a very long time since someone else has come. She does not like company and she does not like the visitor. It lurks in the shadows, it takes her things. Now she must face it, whoever or whatever it is.
You may watch or dowload The Visitor by clicking here
We are also trying hard to make this film as widely available as possible. Just a couple of weeks ago we launched a new format for all our films which is compatible with nearly all internet-enabled computers. We also ditched the Real Video format as the films loaded too slow. As well as that we have completely redesigned the Help Centre, with computer diagnostics and many FAQ’s. We have redesigned the download packages for The Visitor with three formats - Windows Media, DivX and Real Video.
But perhaps the most exciting feature which is in the final stages of development is the Surrealist Studios Store where you will be able to buy all our films on DVD, VHS or a special PC CD-Rom. This is not just a British only feature, we will be accepting international orders as well. Also the prices are very competitive at just £4 for a DVD! All profit will go towards new films.

Sorry about the website not working all of yesterday afternoon, it actually had nothing to do with me, some sort of power failure to the web server. Anyway it looks like we will be moving the website to a new server based in the UK. Your probably thinking ‘Why???’, well seeing as we get most of our visitors from the UK being a UK based film company we thought it would benifit them as the website will load faster. Usually the difference is not noticable but because our main website is such a graphic intense website it should make a difference. This also means that when we do swap over the website it won’t be working for many hours. Oh joy.

The website has been updated today. We have created The Visitor page with information and some photos plus the all important release date (12th March). We have recently launched the brand new Surrealist Studios TV. This area of our website has been completely re-designed for a much improved look and compatibility. The help centre has been re-written and now includes various diagnostics that are carried out on your computer. Also a brand-new download section. You may also notice some changes on the homepage of this website.
We are currently on-track for a 12th March release for The Visitor and we are currently composing music and preparing the film for this website. I still cannot guarantee that the 12th March is going to stay the release date as we might experience some last minute problems, but it’s looking good so far. The plan is that we will launch The Visitor and update the website for 8:00pm GMT on the 12th March so anyone coming on at that time can view The Visitor. The film is shorter than Woodlands. It is nine and a half minutes long so pop on this website any time after 8pm to watch it before anyone else.
I am still getting a lot of people asking me about DVD’s and videos of our films especially after the recent press interest. This is something that we are currently considering but you must relise that if we do decide to go ahead with it, it is more likely to be launched in months rather than weeks. I’ll keep you updated. Suggestions are also welcome - sam@surrealiststudios.co.uk.

Hey guys, the forum and site has been a little quiet recently so I felt I better update you on things here at Surrealist Studios. 2005 is hopefully going to be a good year, here are somethings you might want to look foward to.
The biggest being The Visitor. This is our latest horror film and the production side of it is nearing completion and we should be going into the editing stage very soon. We are looking at a March release for Surrealist Studios.co.uk and hopefully a trailer in the next couple of weeks. The Visitor is kept simple like Wastelands, about six minutes long (under half the length of Woodlands) and the most exciting bit about it is that it is a silent film and has just a completely original soundtrack (spooky piano music). More details will be posted soon. It is quite a short film so we don’t want to give too much away about the storyline so you will just have to wait for the trailer. We are currently developing The Visitor area of this website.
Secondly is mostly about the website. We are completely redeveloping the look of Surrealist Studios TV because I personally hate it. So expect a much more streamline look plus it being a whole lot easier to use sometime during February.
We thought that there is going to be quite a long gap between the release of Woodlands and The Visitor so we are going to add some VIDEO DOCUMENTARIES/INTERVIEWS to the website. Nothing too serious or too long but I think they are going to be more humourous rather than informative. But it fills the gap and keeps you happy.
So thats about it, 2005 is looking good and I can assure you The Visitor won’t be the only film we will be doing this year. Oh yeah and don’t forget about the forum, its been a little quiet as well recently - forum.surrealiststudios.co.uk. Stay in touch guys, comments, scripts, suggestions, problems, press queries still to info@surrealiststudios.co.uk
